Annual Historic Route 66
Fun Run!

We Look forward to the 32nd Annual Historic Route 66 Fun Run!

More than 800 vehicles are expected to join in the weekend's activities: traveling the 140 mile trip between Seligman and Topock / Golden Shores with events planned in most every community along the way. This annual fundraiser started in early 1987 when 15 individuals embarked on an ambitious journey to lead the rebirth of Route 66 by forming Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona. It quickly became clear that they needed to find creative ways to raise money to fund all the work ahead of them and from this idea the idea for the Annual Historic Route 66 Fun Run was born.

That following the spring, the First Annual Historic Route 66 FunRun attracted the 152 entrants! The governor of Arizona, Rose Mofford, cut the ribbons. Will Rogers, Jr. was the first Grand Marshal and the Delgadillo's band headlined the event. The planning couldn't have been more perfect except for the April showers, sleet and SNOW! Rain and shine the continued success of this event is staying true to what made the first Fun Run work...creating a relaxing, fun packed weekend of camaraderie, cars and the celebrations of American icon...Route 66. Once again we are expecting participants and attendees from all over the world along with the just about any vehicles on the wheels. Check out photos from last year's Fun Run on our Facebook page.
